The Day He Spoke and Met Me in the Mess
When I first started reading my Bible, I didn’t expect it to feel so personal. But every verse seemed to reach off the page and into my life, like He had turned to that exact chapter just to meet me there.
Some days, the conviction was heavy. Other days, it was comfort so deep it felt like exhaling after holding my breath too long. Every time, it was Him teaching me, shaping me, reminding me that He still speaks. Faith isn’t about knowing all the answers. It’s about being willing to listen when He starts turning the pages.
And then I realized He didn’t just speak to me in those quiet devotional moments. He met me in the mess, too. In the middle of chaotic days, when the kids were crying, the dishes piled up, and my heart was heavy with questions I couldn’t answer He was there. Not in a dramatic revelation, but in a quiet whisper: “You’re not alone.”
God doesn’t wait for us to have it all together before He moves. He meets us in the exhaustion, in the chaos, in the brokenness. That’s where His grace begins to rebuild what we thought was lost. He takes the ordinary, the messy, and the overwhelming moments and shows us that even there, His light shines.
Through my devotions, photography, and motherhood, I’ve learned that faith isn’t just about the perfect moments. It’s about noticing Him in the messy, unplanned ones — the ones that feel overwhelming or even impossible. It’s about letting Him write your story, even when you can’t see the whole picture yet.
“Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.” — Exodus 4:12
This reflection is a reminder that God is both speaking and meeting us right where we are. The pages of Scripture are alive, and the chaos of life is not wasted it’s where He often chooses to show His greatest work.
